The γ rays detected in two or more adjacent crystals within 400 ns were identified as a single γ ray scattered by the Compton effect whereas the energies detected in non- neighboring crystals or outside the 400-ns time window were regarded as independent γ-ray events. Timing of an addback γ ray were determined by the crystal with greatest energy deposition compared with neighboring crystals.
